One man is in custody after an alleged early morning robbery, that saw a store employee assaulted.
Saskatoon Police Service were called to the 100 block of Cree Crescent at 5:43 Sunday morning.
Police say a man entered the store and attacked an employee demanding cash. The employee fled the store and says they were followed by the suspect, at which point the employee was assaulted again. The suspect returned to the store and allegedly tried to obtain money from the cash register but was unsuccessful. The suspect fled the store and was apprehended by Patrol officers responding to the robbery.
The assault left the employee with minor injuries and they were treated at the scene by Medavie Health Service.
A 28 year old man is facing charges of Robbery, Assault with a weapon, Assault and Mischief. He will see a Justice of the Peace Sunday.
