The City of Saskatoon is telling residents to be aware of the status or their utility account and wary of a phone scam trying to make you pay when you don’t have to.
The city warns of phone calls that appear to come from the utility company and tells the resident that they have a delinquent account and owe money…otherwise their power will be shut off. The city reminds residents that they never demand pay or your power will be cut off phone messages. As well, the city never requests or collects credit card or bank information from customers via phone, text or email. Residents should call the Saskatoon Police Service if they have been a victim of fraud.
