Saskatoon Police have arrested a 20 year-old man, after officers were allegedly bear sprayed last Friday.
That day police responded to the 400 block of Avenue X South, at 5:45 a.m, to investigate reports of a gunshot. Two men were seen in the area, one reportedly fled the area and then shot bear spray towards officers as they caught up. One of the officers suffered from the effects of the bear spray and they were unable to locate the man that night.
On Tuesday police were able to locate him in an apartment in the 500 block of Avenue X South, the man reportedly tried to climb down from a third floor balcony but a canine unit was successful in arresting him, he was transported to hospital for treatment of dog bites.
The 20 year-old man no faces multiple charges including assaulting a peace officer, possession of a dangerous weapon, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of methamphetamine and breach of probation.
