Two drug traffic investigations by Saskatoon Police have led to about 40 charges. Last Thursday, officers investigating possible meth trafficking witnessed what appeared to be activity consistent with drug transactions. Two women and a man were arrested in the 300 block of Confederation. Meth was allegedly seized from the man along with more than $4-thousand in cash, hydromorphone and 3 phones, and police allege the 2 women had fentanyl powder.
That led to a home search in the 600 block of 33rd Street West where police seized a sawed off rifle, fentanyl powder, drug paraphernalia, baggies of meth, a machete and pepper spray. A 31 year old man is facing numerous charges and the 2 women are each charged with possession of fentanyl.
Then on Friday, an investigation was conducted at a hotel in the 1800 block of Idylwyld Drive North. A rented room was searched and officers allege finding a loaded 9mm handgun, drug paraphernalia, cash and steroids. Prepaid credit cards, $19-thousand in cash, oxycodone and meth were seized from a vehicle outside the hotel. A 32 year old man and 21 year old woman, both from Alberta are facing about 20 charges.
