Regina Police made multiple arrests this weekend for a variety of crimes, including robbery and weapons offenses.
On Saturday police conducted a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Elphinstone Street. Prior to officers approaching the vehicle, police say, one of the occupants fled on foot and report a canister of pepper spray or bear mace was seen inside the vehicle. The occupants were arrested for possession of a prohibited weapon. Further investigation revealed the vehicle also contained a loaded sawed-off shotgun, electric cattle prod or stun gun, several large knives and shotgun ammunition. A second man was also arrested.
34 year-old Joshua Adams has been charged with:
- Possession of a prohibited firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
- Carry concealed weapon
- Careless transportation of a loaded firearm
- Possession of weapons dangerous to the public
- Breach Probation
Twenty-one year-old Coltin Mcallister has been charged with:
- Possession of a prohibited firearm
- Possession contrary to order x 4
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Carry concealed weapon
Also on Saturday Regina Police arrested a youth in relation to a robbery which occurred on March 3rd in the 1800 block of Victoria Avenue East.
At approximately 7:25pm that day, two boys entered a business and took merchandise from the counter. When they were questioned by staff, one of the boys reportedly removed a knife from his pants displaying it for staff to see. The boys left the store with the merchandise.
The 17 year old boy arrested cannot be named in accordance with provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The youth is charged with Robbery and will make his first court appearance in Provincial Court on Monday.
The other boy was previously arrested by the Regina Police Service on March 30th. 19 year old Jaden Kahnapace was charged with Robbery and his matter is before the courts.
A man wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred in the 2000 block of Prince of Wales Drive, was also arrested Saturday.
Jayden Severight-Sparvier was arrested without incident in the 1800 Block of Winnipeg Street. Police say Severight-Sparvier was arrested with a firearm and will also be charged in relation to a break and enter which occurred in the 3400 block of Quance Street on June 30, 2020.
18 year old Jayden Severight-Sparvier of Regina is charged with:
- Possession of firearm contrary to order- 2 counts
- Possession of ammunition contrary to order – 2 counts
- Careless use of firearm
- Carry a concealed weapon
- Possession of firearm
- Break, enter and commit theft
- Robbery
- Theft under $5000
- Breach of Probation
