Bob Rae is the new Ambassador to the United Nations. The Prime Minister announced the appointment today (mon). He has most recently served as Canada’s Special Envoy on Humanitarian and Refugee Issues and before that was Special Envoy to Myanmar. He was a Liberal Member of Parliament and held the position of interim Leader from 2011 to 2013. Before that he led the Ontario New Democrats and was Premier of Ontario.
