A rookie professional has joined the Saskatchewan Rattlers in time for training camp and the Canadian Elite Basketball League’s Summer Series tournament later this month.
The defending C-E-B-L champs announced the signing of American guard Carl Brown III Tuesday. The 6’4″ Louisville, Kentucky, product spent this past season with Cal State-Northridge of the Big West Conference. Brown is considered to be an accurate shooter of the basketball. The Rattlers will gather July 14 in St. Catharines, Ontario for COVID-19 screening with training camp starting on July 17 and Saskatchewan’s first game against host Niagara on the 26th. American guard joins the Rattlers roster
Saskatoon, Sask. (July 6, 2020) – The Saskatchewan Rattlers, member club of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), are
excited to announce the signing of American guard Carl Brown III to its roster.
Brown, a Louisville, KY.-native will mark his professional debut with the Rattlers. The 6-foot-4 guard finished his junior year with
the Cal State, Northridge Matadors averaging 5.6 points per game on 51.7 percent shooting against other Big West Conference
opponents. Prior to joining Cal State, Northridge, Brown played for Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) where he guided MSJC to a
48-17 record as well as back-to-back Pacific Coast Athletic Conference North Division titles. After his sophomore season, Brown was
a First Team All-PCAC after averaging 12.6 points and 4.6 rebounds.
“We are happy to welcome Carl to the team”, said Rattlers GM Barry Rawlyk. “Carl is a high percentage shooter who knocks down
the majority of the shots that he puts up. His adept scoring skill will be a great addition to the team moving into the CEBL Summer
Series.”
The Rattlers are set to resume play this summer when the CEBL Summer Series begins on July 25.
