Despite the uncertainty in today’s COVID-19 world, registrations have held strong for the 2020-21 season with the Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association.
Executive Director Kelly Boes says the eight zones averaged just under 480 registrations during the month of June, compared to the usual count of just over 500 for a season. The registration deadline for the S-M-H-A season has been extended to August 17 without late penalties. In some cases, zones aren’t collecting registration fees yet. A Return to Play plan for minor hockey in the province is expected to be known early next month. The Saskatchewan Hockey Association and the provincial government have been working on an R-T-P.
