Woman Stabbed: One suspect in custody, one being sought
The condition of a stabbing victim is unknown after an incident on the 14 hundred block of Avenue E North around six o’clock Monday night. Saskatoon Police say the 34 year old woman reported being stabbed by two women she knew. Police located one woman who allegedly was in possession of two throwing knives. She is charged with Assault with a Weapon and Carrying a Concealed Weapon as well as Breach of a Court Order. She is in court Tuesday. A 48 year old woman is at large and a warrant has been issued for her arrest. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
Machete Used in Robbery
Saskatoon patrol officers were flagged down around seven o’clock Monday night on the 600 block of Idylwyld Drive North where the complainant told police that a man with a machete had smashed his window, stolen his phone, and cut him with the weapon. His injuries were minor and didn’t require medical attention. Police say two male were seen fleeing into a suite and were apprehended without incident. The machete was recovered. A 29 year old man is charged with Robbery and is in court Tuesday.
Man Pointing Gun on City Street
Around 5:30 Monday afternoon, Saskatoon Police were told of a man walking along the 500 block of 4th Avenue North, pointing a gun at another male. Police located a man matching the description of the suspect and a replica Glock Model .22 handgun. The 37 year old was arrested and charged with Carrying a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace.
Street Racing: Charges Laid
Saskatoon Police nabbed a couple of men for street racing around 11:20 p.m. Monday night. They were allegedly clocked doing up to 140 km/hr in a Maserati and a BMW at 22nd Street and Witney Avenue. A 19 year old and a 26 year old were charged with street racing and lost their vehicles for 30 days.
Taxi Driver Robbed
Two teenagers were arrested and face charges following a Monday morning robbery of a taxi driver in Saskatoon. At about 8-50 a.m., a taxi driver sent a distress signal to Saskatoon Police from the intersection of Avenue W South and Appleby Drive. When officers arrived, the driver told them a male and a female passenger broke through the plexi glass partition of the cab, assaulted him and stole items from inside the vehicle before fleeing on foot. With the help of a canine team, as well as information from neighbours and other people nearby, police were able to find and apprehend two suspects. They were found to be in possession of several stolen items so the 19-year-old male and 16-year-old female are both charged with robbery. The young woman, who had a knife with her, also faces charges of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace and breach of probation. The male taxi driver suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention.
Arrest in Home Invasion
A 29-year-old man faces seven charges after being arrested this (Monday) morning following reports of a home invasion in Saskatoon. At about 4-20 a.m., Saskatoon Police responded to a home in the 100 block of Avenue R North where an unknown man was inside, armed with bear spray and assaulting the occupants of the home. Officers arrested a 29-year-old man who was in possession of bear spray. They also found an injured man in front of the house as well as women aged 20 and 21 who had been assaulted. The interior of the home was damaged and the 26-year-old man from outside was taken to hosptial with serious, but non life-threatening injuries. The arrested man faces charges of aggravated assault, two charges of assault, mischief, possession of a weapon, uttering threats and breach of court conditions.
