The Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation is providing $715 thousand in funding to six health research projects underway at the University of Saskatchewan. Three involve health care for mental health and addictions. One is using “Big data” to better understand mental health and additions. Another looks at addressing mental health and addiction-related emergency department visits. The third is concerned with reducing drop-out rates from opioid use disorder treatment.
Three of the projects are more wide-ranging in their areas of research. One deals with detecting and diagnosing gum disease. The second is targeting a herpes virus protein for new anti-viral drugs. The third concerns promoting MS neuro-recovery through physical rehabilitation.
