Two people are in custody after a high speed chase that ended in Corman Park Saturday morning.
At 3:01 a.m., a patrol officer observed a suspicious vehicle near 8th Street and Broadway Avenue. As the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver failed to stop for police.
The Saskatoon Police Air Support Unit (ASU) immediately took over and monitored the vehicle as it drove at high rates of speed through Saskatoon and north on highway 11 towards the City of Warman. Members from the RCMP and Corman Park Police assisted with successfully deploying a tire deflation device at 3:52a.m. The two occupants of the vehicle then attempted to flee on foot in a rural area just east of Warman. The male was arrested immediately without incident and a female passenger attempted to hide. ASU was able to keep eyes on her until she was taken into custody without incident with the assistance of a K-9 member.
A 33 year old male is charged with fail to stop for police, possession of a weapon (knife), possession of stolen property over $5000 and possession of identity belonging to four separate individuals.
A 26 year old female was charged with breach of undertaking.
Both will remain in custody until being seen by a Justice of the Peace Saturday night.
