A busy weekend for Saskatoon firefighters with three cases of arson. Saturday night around 11:30, they were called to a residential fire on the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North. Flames were visible inside the structure as they arrived. It took about an hour to bring the fire under control. No one was home at the time. Damage is estimated at $250 thousand.
Then, just after three o’clock Sunday morning, smoke was reported at the back of a property on the 300 block of Avenue U South. Flames again were visible at the back of the home as crews arrived. The fire was out in about 15 minutes. No one was home. Damage is pegged at about $100 thousand.
Then, about 4:12 Sunday afternoon, a detached garage was reported ablaze on the 12 hundred block of Avenue F North. It was out in about five minutes. No injuries. Damage was about $5 thousand.
