Jasper RCMP say they are still at the scene of the Columbia Icefields with efforts currently underway to remove the Ice Explorer vehicle, which police say could take several days.
Three people were killed and 24 were injured when the tourist bus rolled near a glacier in Jasper National Park. A 24 year old woman from Canoe Narrows, Saskatchewan, a 28 year old Edmonton woman and a 58 year old man from India were victims in the crash. Of the 24 people injured, four are still in critical but stable condition.
RCMP say they have been joined at the scene of the accident by an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist, Occupational Health and Safety, Parks Canada and removal crews.
RCMP don’t know what caused the vehicle to roll but they do know a rock slide didn’t precipitate the tragedy.
