The wait is nearly over!
The Canadian Elite Basketball League’s second season starts Saturday with a different format from Year 1, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The seven C-E-B-L teams are playing a “Summer Series” in St. Catharines, Ontario…a round-robin plus playoffs. All seven teams are staying in the same hotel and training at the same Y-M-C-A with all 26 games at the same fan-less arena, the Meridian Centre, in St. Catharines. C-E-B-L personnel have been there since at least July 12th. The defending champion Saskatchewan Rattlers take on the host Niagara River Lions Sunday. The final goes August 9th. Check out the conversation Les Lazaruk had with Rattlers’ head coach Chad Jacobson in the “Sports in Conversation” section of this website…..
