The upward spike of COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan continued with Monday’s update as 31 new, confirmed infections in the province were reported bringing the total to 1,209, 307 considered to be active. The 31 new cases were spread out across Saskatchewan. There were 10 in the Central region, nine in the South, eight in the Saskatoon area and three in the North region.
That prompted the Ministry of Health to remind residents in the province that, no matter how tired or frustrated you may be with the constant barrage of cautious messages over the four-and-a-half months since the pandemic took hold, complacency is something that can’t be allowed to creep into the mindset. Every region of the province has active cases, meaning there is a risk of coming into contact with the novel coronavirus anytime you go out in public or meet up with friends. The reminder from the Ministry of Health is that the personal protective measures are in place to protect you, your family and friends.
Otherwise, Monday’s update had 13 more people having recovered from COVID-19 for a total of 886 in Saskatchewan. Of the 307 active cases, 14 are in hospital with four of those in intensive care; three in Saskatoon and one in Regina. Of the 10 people receiving inpatient treatment in hospital, four are in Saskatoon, three in the Central region, two in the South and one in Regina.

- 288 have no known exposures; and
- 108 are under investigation by local public health.
