The City of Saskatoon, working in conjunction with other Canadian cities and the province, has determined that mail in ballots might be the way to go in light of COVID-19 and an upcoming municipal election.
That from Mayor Charlie Clark who says they want to avoid voter fraud but they don’t want to create so many barriers, people can’t vote.
The rules they are devising involve allowing a mail in ballot but the ballot will have to be witnessed, with a signature, by another person who is a voter in the city. They believe this will provide a check and balance to the process. Municipal elections are November 9th.
