Around 5 o’clock late Tuesday afternoon, Unity RCMP were called to a home in the community after receiving a report of an assault and possible parental abduction.

Police say three children were taken by their father from their mother’s home. RCMP determined, over the course of the evening, a possible location for the father. He was located in Kyle however the children weren’t with him; they were discovered a short time later at a home in Maidstone.

RCMP say the incident qualified as an Amber Alert and the Amber Alert process was initiated but stood down at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday night when the children were found.
