Sum Theatre is hoping to create the excitement you may remember from when you were younger when the ice cream truck would come around.
Instead of Theatre in the Park this year, because of safety measures around COVID-19, Sum Theatre is presenting a traveling show winding through the streets of many Saskatoon and Martensville neighbourhoods through the summer.
One of the performers, Jenna Berenbaum, says the neighbourhoods and times are listed on their website and then on the day they are coming to your neighbourhood, come outside and listen for them, because they are loud and colourful and not easy to miss.
You don’t have to see the whole show to get the gist of the performance, Berenbaum says, because it’s filled with short segments of music and puppets and singing and dancing.
Sum’s artistic producer, Heather Morrison, says, from where audience members pause to watch, they may see the whole production or they may just catch a glimpse, and either way, they promise to make it magical.
