Those who are running for election in the provincial or municipal elections will have to make some adaptations to the usual campaign activities and practices.
Charlie Clark announced last week that he would be running again for Mayor.
He says you can see the difference even in the way the announcements he would run were held.
In 2016 it was a large affair with many people invited and this time around it was only about 20 supporters with everyone wearing masks and physical distancing.
There won’t be any big rallies or fundraising events, but going door-to-door will happen, Clark says, although in a safe manner to prevent the spread of the virus.
Former MLA Rob Norris is also running to be Saskatoon’s Mayor.
A lot of his campaigning since he announced his intentions over a month ago has been outdoors.
He says, “For the last 4 or 5 weeks, I have walked hundreds of kilometres, I have spent countless hours listening, learning, and as people are out mowing their lawns or working on their gardens, they are stopping to talk.”
The provincial election is October 26th and the municipal elections are November 9th.
