An Edmonton woman has filed a Salmonella lawsuit in the United States linking her illness to tainted onions from Thomson International. This is the company behind the food recall issued on July 30th. Red, yellow, white, and sweet yellow onions grown by Thomson International of Bakersfield, California, were recalled due to possible Salmonella contamination. There have been 120 confirmed cases of salmonella in Canada linked to this illness including four in Saskatchewan. 17 people have been hospitalized although no deaths have been reported. At least 516 people have reportedly been sickened in Canada and the U.S.
