Regina Police closed down the 47 hundred block of 4th Avenue for much of the day after receiving a call that a young female had been held in an apartment against her will. This all began just before 8:00 a.m. Police were told she had managed to escape. As officers arrived they were told that a male acquaintance of hers was inside the apartment with a firearm, threatening to harm himself and police.
About 2.5 hours after this began, two females emerged and were detained as part of the investigation with one arrested for outstanding, unrelated warrants.
Eventually, police determined the male thought to be in the apartment had left before police arrived. A search of the apartment allegedly turned up four replica firearms, a shotgun, ammunition, and a large sword; all of which were seized. The road closure was lifted by two o’clock. The investigation continues.
