Muslims who have settled in Saskatoon and area will gather Sunday at SaskTel Centre to observe the holiest day on their calendar.
The “day of sacrifice” is being observed around the world.
Daniel Kuhlen of the Islamic Association of Saskatchewan says Muslims from over 60 countries who have settled in Saskatoon and area will be dressed in colourful attire from their home countries and hear a short sermon at 9 a.m.
A mass prayer will follow with worshipers in neat rows, bowing in unison.
Kuhlman expects over 10-thousand people to attend making it the largest congregation in the city.
Participants will continue to celebrate the day following the service in smaller private groups of families and friends.
