The Canadian Food Inspection Agency continues to expand its recall on onions from Thomson International in Bakersfield, California and imported to Canada. Krown Produce Inc is recalling Krown brand red and yellow onions grown by Thomson International due to possible Salmonella contamination.
The CFIA has gone so far as to list locations in western Canada affected and it does include eight grocery stores in Saskatchewan. A list can be found here.
Consumers should not consume the recalled products or foods containing these raw onions. Retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and food service establishments such as hotels, restaurants, cafeterias, hospitals, and nursing homes should not serve, use, or sell the recalled products.
