Two people were arrested after attempting to evade Police in a stolen vehicle early Thursday morning.
Shortly before 1:00 a.m., a vehicle police report was known to be stolen was spotted in the area of 11th Street West and Highway 7. When Police attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled and continued cross-country from Highway 7 to Highway 14 and continued to travel eastbound. Police were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device however the vehicle drove into the ditch toward a farmyard near Chapel Road where it eventually stopped. Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody without further incident.
The driver, a 40-years-old man, is facing charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Evading Police, Possession of Stolen Property and Breach of Undertaking. The passenger, a 40-year old woman was arrested on outstanding warrants.
