Today is a big one for Pense, located just west of Regina.
Many Saskatchewan communities have tried and failed to win Kraft Hockeyville since the promotion started in 2006. Pense hopes to end that drought this weekend. For being one of the four finalists for the contest, Pense has already received $25,000 for rink upgrades, but getting the honour of Hockeyville would mean $250,000 and the right to host an N-H-L exhibition game. Pense is up against two communities in the Maritimes and one in Quebec. Voting opens at 7 a.m., Saskatchewan time, Friday and closes at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon. You can vote as many times as you’d like. You can do so on the Kraft Hockeyville website. The winner will be announced on Hockey Night in Canada Saturday night.
