The provincial NDP are not letting up on their criticism of the government’s back to school plan. In the latest volley, Finance Critic Trent Wotherspoon was joined by business owner and grandmother Carole Carman in calling for changes to the plan. Wotherspoon says, “If the Sask. Party’s worst-in-the-nation plan for schools fails the test and forces a shutdown again, thousands more jobs and hundreds more small businesses like Carole’s will be devastated.” Carman says, “The vague guidelines they’ve introduced for schools are far less stringent than what we were operating under in our business, increasing the risk that COVID-19 spreads through our schools and our communities.” She says that she lost her business to the pandemic and now she is worried about her grandkids as the guidelines for businesses seem to be completely forgotten.
