This is normally the weekend you see all the classic cars cruising up and down 8th Street and while there are no formal organized shows or activities, the Saskatoon Police Service is still expecting to see car enthusiasts flocking to the area.
Police point out when the classic cars come out, there is an increase in motor vehicle and pedestrian traffic so they are urging everyone to be patient and cautious because in addition to increased traffic there are detours and road closures on 8th Street due to road construction. You can also expect to see police maintain a high profile presence on 8th Street over the weekend. And they remind motorists that all traffic laws still apply.
If you want to get your classic car fix you could also check out the Nutana Royal Canadian Legion Sip and Shine on Saturday afternoon featuring more than 30 classic, custom and antique vehicles from various car clubs from Saskatoon and area.
