Tourism Saskatoon has hosted two workshops looking to inspire visitations back to the community.
That according to Tourism Vice President and Director of Innovation, Stephanie Clovechok, who says the first was for the culinary tourism alliance which was aimed at attracting culinary travelers.
Clovechok says the workshop looked at Saskatoon as a well known global destination for culinary experiences, and focused on how to attract culinary travelers to the city and keep them.
The second was a workshop to build winter and shoulder season travel. Clovechok says this workshop looked to inspire visitation during spring, fall and winter.
Clovechok says they had a goal of 40 participants and they fully surpassed that with tourism operators, hotel partners and even from the agriculture industry, participants ranged from all over the province from Missinipe to Swift Current.
The workshops were a part of the Elevating Canadian Experiences Program from the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, and Saskatoon was one of 4 destinations in Canada chosen to participate.
