Tomorrow night there will be a new Conservative party leader, replacing Regina’s Andrew Scheer.
Leslyn Lewis, Erin O’Toole, Peter MacKay and Derek Sloan are in the running.
On its website the Conservative Party says it has set a record for memberships in this leadership race with 269-thousand-469 members.
That beats the total in 2004 when the merger of 2 national parties, the Progressive Conservatives and the Canadian Alliance, meant open nomination racess in all ridings across Canada.
And the membership now is also more than in 2017 when 16 candidates were part of the leadership process.
