Shellbrook
Shellbrook RCMP and the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit are requesting information from the public as they continue to investigate a suspicious death that occurred Friday night.
Between 8 and 9 p.m. RCMP say a young male, whose age has not be provided nor identity, was taken to the Shellbrook Hospital with serious injuries and died shortly after. Police want to know who took him to the hospital.
Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity around the area of the Shellbrook Hospital on Friday between 8 and 9 p.m. is asked to report it immediately to the Shellbrook RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Carrot River
Carrot River RCMP say a man was stabbed on the Red Earth Cree Nation on Friday morning and succumbed to his injuries.
Police say they got the call at 5:45 a.m. and responded to a home on the First Nation where they say 24 year old Brett McKay was declared deceased at the scene.
RCMP say they have determined so far Brett McKay was at a party at an area locally known as “the reservoir” and then driven, already injured, to a house on Red Earth Cree Nation Friday morning.
Anyone who may have information or may have seen what happened are asked to contact Carrot River RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
Moose Jaw
Saturday morning shortly before 2 a.m., Moose Jaw Police received numerous calls regarding an erratic driver in the 1200 block of Main Street North. Reports indicated a man was driving recklessly and the vehicle had crashed into a meridian and almost hit multiple pedestrians.
When police arrived, they learned the vehicle was reported stolen out of Winnipeg. And while on scene, police were notified of a pedestrian who had been hit and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 23-year-old male driver from Winnipeg was arrested and is facing several charges in court Monday including impaired driving causing bodily harm, refusal of breath demand, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, obstruct a police officer, possession of stolen property over $5,000, breach of release order, and 3 counts of breach of conditional sentence order.
Danielson Provincial Park
The search will resume today for a 35 year old man went missing while swimming in Lake Diefenbaker.
A man and woman were swimming in the lake around 6:40 p.m. Thursday evening at Danielson Provincial Park and while the woman made it back to shore, the 35 year old man was not found.
The Saskatchewan RCMP Underwater Recovery Team as well as Outlook and Elbow RCMP detachments searched for seven hours yesterday but had to suspend their efforts due to bad weather.
