Identity Documents and Weapons Found
Saskatoon Police say they ran a traffic stop on what is described as a suspicious vehicle Monday morning around 11 a.m. near Albert Avenue and 5th Street East. They say the man driving was in breach of his conditions. The vehicle also allegedly housed a machete, a knife, a bow and arrows, ammunition and bear spray. His wallet meanwhile allegedly contained numerous identification documents that belonged to other people and had been reported stolen. A 46 year old man is facing numerous weapons charges in addition to charges connected to the identity documents.
Motorcyclist Sent to Hospital
Saskatoon Police re-opened the intersection of 71st Street and Idylwyld Drive North around 10 o’clock Monday night after an accident between a pick up and a motorcycle. Police say that shortly after 5 p.m. a 39 year old man driving his motorbike collided with a pick up truck. He was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt. The investigation continues and charges are pending.
Evade Police Leads to Drug Seizure
Saskatoon Police say they saw a car driving erratically near 19th Street West and Avenue W South and when they pulled it over officers spotted a Conducted Energy Weapon on the seat. A man and woman were arrested, a knife and machete, numerous cell phones, a scale and nearly 78 grams of crack cocaine were seized. The woman was released without charges. A 31 year old man is charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine for the purpose of Trafficking and three counts of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
