A traffic stop near Wynyard netted RCMP officers from the Traffic Services Unit 6 kilograms of suspected cocaine.
The officers were conducting a driver’s license, vehicle registration and driver sobriety check when they saw that there was unstamped tobacco in the vehicle.
A 33 year old woman, the only person in the car, was arrested for being in possession of unstamped tobacco but then police say during the search of the vehicle they seized more unstamped tobacco and six kilograms of what is believed to be cocaine.
The 33 year old woman from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta was subsequently charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
