The Saskatchewan Health Authority reports that phone and internet services are up and running at the Spiritwood and District Health Complex, however without fax service and no ability to contact local members of the community by landline.
This, after a fire at the SaskTel building in Spiritwood over the weekend which knocked out all communication, including cell, data services and landline.
As of this morning, all services had been restored well ahead of the predicted timeline for Mildred, Chitek Lake, Leoville, Shell Lake, Witchekan Lake, Rabbit Lake and Belbutte.
The SHA says if you need to contact the Health Complex, you will have to use a cell phone, and if you are waiting for a call back, they will need you to supply a cell phone number to do so.
Spiritwood has cell and data service at this point, but no landline or internet service.
The Health Complex along with a few other larger customers in the area like the schools, the Credit Union, the library and the RCMP have phone service through fibre connections, so their phone service is working, but anyone else in the Spiritwood 306-883 phone number exchange that has a traditional line still doesn’t have landline or internet service.
