The Saskatchewan Teachers Federation is advising teachers not to volunteer for extracurricular activities. The STF says it’s to support the work of school divisions to protect the health of student, teachers, and staff. President Patrick Maze says providing extracurricular activities would undermine the efforts to protect students such as cohorting, restricted travel, and staggered start times. The Federation says it supports the decision of the majority of school divisions to not proceed with extracurricular activities at this time. The Federation is encouraging all divisions to follow suit.
