Around 2 this morning (Wed) Saskatoon Police on patrol noticed a man standing on the sidewalk near 20th Street West and Avenue J South allegedly holding a machete and he seemed to be in distress.
When officers approached, police say he fled on foot and at one point, briefly challenged the officers with the weapon, then discarded it in a yard where it was later seized.
He was arrested without incident and police believe he was under the influence of met.
The 20 year old is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and breach of release.
