The unemployment rate fell 0.7 per cent in August to 10.2 per cent. Statistics Canada says as a result of the COVID-19 economic shutdown, the rate hit a record high of 13.7 per cent in May. The number of unemployed Canadians declined for the third consecutive month in August to just over two million people.
In Saskatchewan, the rate fell to 7.9 per cent from 8.8. In Saskatoon, it dropped from 12.7 in July to 10.8 per cent. Regina fell from 10.5 to 9.3
