RCMP and SGI are reminding motorists to drive safe this Labour Day long weekend.
RCMP say there will be increased traffic on Saskatchewan roads and highways due to people trying to enjoy the last days of summer.
Last year police responded to 55 collisions during the September long weekend, two resulted and serious injuries, fortunately there were no fatalities.
RCMP say safe driving is everyone’s responsibility and recommend planning ahead, having a designated driver, maintaining safe speeds and keeping your attention on the road.
With Harvest also in full swing, motorists can also expect to share the road with farm equipment. Police say to be attentive, be patient and slow down, especially when passing.
