Saskatchewan is charging ahead with the planned October provincial election.
The Chief Electoral Officer, Dr, Michael Boda, recommended Friday that preparations continue, to hold the 29th provincial general election on October 26th. The recommendation was based off of public health advice from the Chief Medical Health Officer and provincial stake holders.
Dr. Boda says there is no reason Saskatchewan should not continue to prepare for a general election, on its legislatively scheduled date and the conclusion was also formed from advice by the electoral advisory group. A group that has met four times over the past three months and consists of Dr. Boda, the Cheif Medical Health Officer Dr Saqib Shahab, the Government House Leader Jeremy Harrison and the Opposition House Leader Cathy Sproule.
