A Canadian company has donated 28,000 face shields to Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Education to help in the preparations for a return to the classroom.
Canadian Shield is a Waterloo, Ontario Personal Protective Equipment manufacturer.
President Jeremy Hedges says, “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with the Ministry to offer face shields to teachers and educators, making sure every teach going back to the classroom has a Canadian Shield to keep them safe.”
The donation is part of the company’s national donation campaign that will see 750,000 face shields distributed across Canada, for a total donation worth $7.5-million.
Hedges says Canadian Shield began manufacturing these face shields last March and worked with school boards and organizations across Canada for input on the design.
Kindergarten to Grade 12 students are back to school on Tuesday.
