One man is in custody after allegedly pointing a gun at a police officer.
Saskatoon Police say on Sunday at 3:10 p.m, a patrol officer attempted to speak with a man riding a bike on the sidewalk at 8th Street East and Circle Drive East.
Police report the man refused to stop for the officer and was followed to the intersection of Clark Crescent and Stephenson Crescent. It was at this time they say they man pulled out what appeared to be a handgun and pointed it several times at the officer before throwing it on the ground. He then continued on his bicycle before coming to a stop in the 100 block Clark Crescent. The man then reached into his sweater as if he was retrieving another weapon, but was taken into custody without further incident.
A 30 year-old man is in custody facing charges of assault police officer, obstruction, numerous weapons and firearms charges, and a bicycle bylaw ticket.
The firearm was recovered and found to be a CO2 airsoft pistol.
