Two young males who fell out of a canoe into Welcome Bay on Monday evening were found deceased on early Tuesday morning according to Wollaston Lake R-C-M-P.
The identities of an 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old boy have not been revealed. Along with a 14-year-old boy, the three males attempted to cross Welcome Bay from a barge dock to a T-dock at around 10:30 p.m. Monday. Weather conditions at the time were said to be windy with an air temperature of about five degrees. The canoe flipped during the trip with the 14-year-old managing to swim safely to shore. The other two males were found around 4 a.m. Tuesday. Their next of kin have been notified and the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service is now investigating the incident.
