The carbon tax case goes before the Supreme Court of Canada September 22. Three days have been set aside to hear from Saskatchewan, Alberta, Ontario, as they oppose the federal government’s Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act. British Columbia is opposing the Attorney General of Alberta at the high court level, over the split decision in that province’s Appeal Court that found that parts 1 and 2 of the Act are unconstitutional in their entirety. The Province of Quebec is also in the fight, saying carbon pricing is a provincial responsibility.
