The Premier of Saskatchewan has written a letter to the Prime Minister, ahead of next week’s throne speech, laying out the issues he wants to see addressed.
Scott Moe says one of those things is a commitment to the oil and gas industry. He points to the federal government’s intention to present an ambitious green agenda which the Premier suggests is construed by some as code for shutting down the energy industry.
Moe also notes that Saskatchewan doesn’t have representation in this province from the Liberal government and wants to ensure that the province’s priorities are heard.
In addition he is requesting that the carbon tax be paused until the Supreme Court rules on the matter. The carbon tax case goes before the Supreme Court of Canada September 22nd.
