The President of CUMFI suggests getting your kitchen party ready, put on your dancing shoes, and join this year’s Metis Cultural Days, which have gone virtual because of the pandemic. Shirley Isbister says the workshops, entertainment, storytelling, jigging will continue as in the past, but it will all be online. This year’s theme is youth, with lots of young entertainers in the lineup.
There is also an art auction, so CUMFI is inviting artists to donate their works. Metis Cultural Days is Friday and Saturday, but the auction runs until the end of the month.
The proceeds go towards Christmas parties for families and children in care, and for seniors. The goal of Metis Cultural Days is to promote awareness and engagement in Metis arts, culture and history. To join the event, click here or through Facebook, click here.
