Saskatoon Public Schools and the provincial Francophone school division both indicate they have not been notified by the Saskatchewan Health Authority of any cases of COVID-19 in any of their schools.
In regards to the Francophone school division, or CEF (Conseil Ecoles Fransaskoises), that encompasses schools across the province. There was COVID-19 at a daycare in Saskatoon, but it has been two weeks since that person was at the daycare, which would pre-date the students going back to class on September 8th.
As well, although the daycare is housed in the same building as one of the CEF schools, it is an entirely separate entity, with a separate entrance and there is no contact between the two.
Voluntary student testing kicked off Thursday at Holy Cross High School in Saskatoon – the first school in the city to undertake the process and one of the schools where COVID-19 has been reported. Five schools in total in the Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools have reported COVID-19.
