Vehicles are likely to be ticketed and towed this autumn if residents fail to adhere to parking restrictions during the Fall Sweep program.
The Governance and Priorities Committee carried a report that will bring ticketing back after it was suspended during the spring sweep program at the beginning of the pandemic.
City CFO, Kerry Tarasoff, says during the spring 3480 vehicles were towed, so curbside street sweeping could be completed. No tickets were issued but city administration says they will likely average around $53 in the fall.
This year’s fall sweep will begin October 13th and run until October 23rd.
Street sweeping advertising, including billboards in affected areas, yellow sandwich board no parking signs, website maps and social media posts will let residents know when street sweeping will take place in their area.
City council will review the report on the 28th to make it official.
