A former Regina businesswoman has been sentenced to 7 years in prison after she defrauded $5.5 million dollars from investors in Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C. over seven years.
54 year-old Alena Pastuch was sentenced Friday at Regina’s Court of Queen’s Bench to seven years and three months, although the three months will be taken off her sentence for time served on remand.
Around 80 people were affected and to date, just over $137 thousand dollars has been recovered by some of the victims.
Pastuch could still make a request to corrections officials to serve time at a healing lodge, something her defense team had previously suggested.
