Dancing Sky Theatre is bringing their Fireside Stories event to Saskatoon.
After performing for 10 days in the village of Meacham, the brand new Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan site will be home from Tuesday until the 27th.
Angus Ferguson, artistic director and co-founder, says it’s a great honour to be one of the first to use the site. He says while the main ampitheatre cannot be used for the performance due to COVID restrictions, Fireside Stories will take place right beside it, in the courtyard. Ferguson suggests, where they will be performing, the audience will get to be around the fire facing the river, which he calls the heart of the city.
Ferguson says the show is family friendly, physically distanced, includes music from Saskatoon’s Lancelot Knight, and features tales from Indigenous storytellers, homesteaders and recent newcomers to the prairies.
