A small group of about 25 protestors at Saskatoon City Hall Friday afternoon chanted for climate justice.
Students, young workers and allies rallied in 7 Canadian cities with the message that the federal government needs to take action on environmental issues instead of making empty promises.
Lauren, who prefers not to share her last name, is an organizer with the Saskatoon Youth Climate Committee.
She wants the Prime Minister to know the future of Canada’s youth is in his hands.
“He has the power, and may be one of the only individuals in Canada who can truly make the changes to stop the climate crisis and ensure that we get a chance to live in a healthy atmosphere and have a healthy planet to inherit when it’s our turn.
Lauren says 5 years ago, Justin Trudeau promised to phase out fossil fuel subsidies and this week he promised to prolong them.
