Drugs Seized in Pacific Heights
Two people are facing charges after a suspicious vehicle was reported on the 500 block of Devonshire Crescent around 3:30 this morning (mon). Officers allegedly found a man in the driver’s seat along with drug paraphernalia in plain view. As officers were taking him into custody, they allegedly found him in possession of a taser. Police say a woman approached them and attempted to obstruct officers from making the arrest. She was taken into custody. Police say in searching the vehicle they found 63.5 grams of methamphetamine, two knives, and other paraphernalia, and packaging materials associated to the trafficking of drugs. A 20-year-old woman is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Obstruction. The 29-year-old man is charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Prohibited Weapon, and Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited Weapon.
Fleeing from Police in Meadowgreen
Saskatoon Police say four people are facing over 50 charges after fleeing from police on Saturday morning. Around one o’clock, members of the Community Mobilization Unit were on patrol when they saw a vehicle driving erratically in the area of 19th Street and Avenue X. They tried to conduct a traffic stop but the vehicle sped off. A tire deflation device was used and the vehicle came to a stop on Circle Drive South, near the 900 block of Saskatchewan Crescent. Officers watched as three passengers ran off. The female driver was arrested without incident.Police allegedly found a firearm, bear spray, and two knives inside the vehicle. With help from the Canine Unit, the male passengers were taken into custody. Three men, ages 20, 30 and 37, and a 31-year-old woman are facing charges that include Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and Possession of Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence.
Attempted Apartment Break-In in City Park
Saskatoon Police say arrests were made around 6:30 a.m. Friday morning after two men were seen trying to break into an apartment building in the 400 block of 5th Avenue North. Two suspects were tracked down and arrested. One of them also allegedly had possession of a bicycle that had been on the SPS Bike Registry and confirmed to be stolen. A 49 year old man is charged with Break and Enter, Possession of Break and Enter Instruments, Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 and Breach of Court Conditions. He was also arrested on outstanding warrants. A 25 year old man is charged Break and Enter as well as Possession of Break and Enter Instruments.
Disturbance Call in Nutana Park Turns Into Weapons Seizure
Saskatoon Police were called to the 16-hundred block of Ruth Street East on Friday morning around 9 a.m. to a report of two men in a vehicle were causing a disturbance. Police allege there was a knife and can of bear spray in plain view inside the vehicle and two men were taken into custody. A further search of the vehicle netted police a loaded sawed-off shotgun, a machete, ammunition and another knife. Two men, aged 31 and 38, are facing a combined total of 27 weapons-related offences.
